The Nike Ozarks Open is organizing, for the first time, the fully sanctioned PGA/Nike Handicapped Silver Dollar City Pro-Am.
Presented by the Silver Dollar City Foundation, it will be held August 11 at the Stonebridge Ledgestone Country Club as a part of the Nike Ozarks Open, which is held Aug. 10-16 at Highland Springs in Springfield.
This first SDC Pro-Am will include 112 amateurs and 28 Nike Tour players as well as area golfers and entertainers. Branson Youth Life and Camp Barnabus in Purdy, Mo., will benefit from the tournament.
Rick Todd, local golfer and vice president of Corporate Development for Silver Dollar City Inc., stated in a press release, "The Nike Ozarks Open Silver Dollar City Pro-Am will raise funds for worthwhile causes while enhancing the credibility of our area as a prime destination for fellow golfers.
The Branson area is becoming better known for its fine courses we hope to increase Branson's exposure in the recreation industry."
