The 1998 National Church Choir Festival will meet Aug. 13 in Branson for competitive and noncompetitive clinics. Choirs of all age groups will be judged by representatives from Branson theaters and area colleges.

The festival will culminate at 8:30 p.m. at The Grand Palace with a performance by the New Life Christian Center Choir of San Antonio, Texas the winning choir at the 1998 Gospel Music Association International Spotlight.

The Choir Festival is hosted by Branson Hospitality Group Inc. and co-hosted by Branson entertainers Barbara Fairchild, Mark Christian, Larry Wilhite and The Braschler Family. According to BHG Director Phyllis Rotrock, "The choir festival is an all-new event for Branson, and we hope to make it an annual event."
