Construction has begun on Fire Station No. 3 for the city of Branson. A ground-breaking ceremony was slated for Sept. 3 at the station's site, located at the corner of Green Mountain Drive and Keeter Street on the west side of the city.
The third fire station will be nearly identical in design to Fire Station No. 2 at Branson Meadows. However, the new station will include a satellite police office.
The city's Board of Aldermen approved $620,000 in funding for the station Aug. 24. Land for the station was donated to the city. The Branson Fire Department has set a completion date for the station of March 1999. The city has named Travis Snelling Construction Company, of Forsyth, as the contractor for the project.
