The Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is soliciting nominations for its annual community awards. The Mary, Pioneer, Ambassador, Beautification and Community Spirit awards will be presented at the annual Black Tie Reception Nov. 20 at the Chateau on the Lake Resort Hotel.
The chamber of commerce has also announced the hiring of two new employees. Wyli Barnes has been hired as the community and economic development director, which includes responsibilities in small business development and leadership.
Stephanie Gurley has been hired as tourism development manager. She will manage the organization's special events and programs.
