For the past three months, the unemployment rate in Branson and Taney County has been below the state percentage. The Branson Employment Service reported August's unemployment rate was 3 percent, compared with 3.7 percent a year ago. The statewide rate was 4.2 percent in August.
Out of a civilian labor force of 30,844 people in Taney County, 922 were without jobs during August.
In June and July, Taney County's unemployment rates were 3.9 percent and 2.8 percent, respectively, compared with the statewide June and July unemployment of 4.3 percent and 4.4 percent, respectively.
