A Nov. 4 news release confirmed that the 48th annual Miss USA Pageant will be held Feb. 5, 1999, at The Grand Palace in Branson. The pageant, featuring 51 state delegates, will be broadcast live on CBS Television Network.
Molly A. Miles, CEO of the Miss Universe Organization, said a two-year contract was signed with Syncor Special Events Management, a subsidiary of Syncor Entertainment, owner of the 4,000-seat Grand Palace.
In the release, Rob Hall, president of Syncor Special Events Management, said, "We anticipate the Miss USA Pageant will have a tremendous positive economic impact on the Branson area, as well as provide an incredible opportunity to showcase the many assets of Branson, Mo., and our impressive state, to the world."
