The city of Branson reports it ended its 1998 fiscal year Sept. 30 with a 4.25 percent increase in sales tax revenue. The city's sales tax revenue totaled about $10.3 million compared with approximately $9.9 million in fiscal year 1997.
Revenues from the city-owned campground for November totaled $45,436, compared to $33,028 in November a year ago. According to the city, that's the second consecutive month that revenues topped last year's revenues.
Work will begin soon to upgrade the electrical system for larger recreational vehicles, to build new restrooms/showers and to improve campground landscaping.
The city's new-construction values for the first 11 months of 1998 totaled $39.5 million, compared with $22.8 million for the entire year of 1997.
