City can continue center studies|ret||ret||tab|

Thirtieth Judicial Circuit Judge James Eiffert filed on Sept. 29 an order to lift a temporary restraining order that had stopped Branson and Taney County officials from further studies on a Branson convention center site in Branson Meadows. |ret||ret||tab|

The restraining order was issued Aug. 3 and was the result of a lawsuit filed by a group of business owners claiming a citizen group violated the Sunshine Law in recommending the Branson Meadows location. |ret||ret||tab|

According to the city of Branson, lifting the temporary restraining order allows both Taney County and the city to continue with the convention center project. Branson City Administrator Terry Dody said that while the court's order allows the city and county to proceed as originally planned, he will recommend to the city's board of aldermen that they hold a specially-called joint meeting with the Taney County Commission. Dody said the purpose of the joint meeting would be to allow landowners of possible convention sites to make presentations to the aldermen and commissioners.|ret||ret||tab|
