Missouri State University, JVIC and Nantero Inc. will receive $6 million for continued development of radiation-hardened carbon nanotube-based memory in U.S. systems to protect against a nuclear attack.
Another JVIC partner – Crosslink Inc. – together with MSU and JVIC, will receive $7 million for research and development of suits and apparel to protect against chemical and biological warfare agents.
A third Springfield project, led by MSU, JVIC, Brewer Science Inc. and Applied Systems Intelligence Inc., will receive $6 million. The companies will use the funding for development of carbon nanotube-based computer devices for satellites to protect against solar radiation events.
In Joplin, three companies are in line to receive defense research funding as well.
Gestalt will get $10 million to provide computer management for the U.S. military.
Also working with the U.S. military, Eagle Picher Technologies will receive $4.9 million
for research and development of U.S. Army batteries with increased performance and energy density.
LaBarge Inc. is set to receive $6 million to produce wiring harnesses for joint stand-off weapons.[[In-content Ad]]
