A local college department is doing all it can to help build a house in Joplin.
The department of kenisiology at Missouri Southern State College challenged all the groups on the campus to buy a brick for the Ronald McDonald House of the Four States.
The fund raiser began Feb. 6 and continued through Feb. 27. In the end,
the groups bought 10 bricks totalling $1,000.
That money will go straight to the Ronald McDonald House, which is set to open in June of this year at the corner of 34th Street and Jackson Avenue.
Steve Brown, Kinesiology Club president, said he hoped the fund raiser would not only raise money, but also build an awareness of the house across campus.
In all, nine groups participated.
