When one door closes, another opens for flight traffic in Missouri.
Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) plans to exit the Branson Airport in June, but the nationwide carrier announced Monday it would add new nonstop flights at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, including daily service to San Francisco.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the single daily roundtrip flight to San Francisco will begin Sept. 30. Southwest is offering an introductory one-way fare for as low as $119. In addition, Southwest will expand service from Lambert to Los Angeles International Airport and Washington, D.C. Beginning June 8, St. Louis service to LA will grow from two to three daily roundtrips.
