Southwest Airlines to break ground on $100M hangar

Southwest Airlines in the next few months plans to break ground on a $100 million maintenance hangar at the Denver International Airport.

"Denver is home to one of our largest operations with up to 224 departures a day during peak travel periods to nearly 70 cities and carrying more local travelers than any other carrier. Overall, Denver has been one of the fastest-growing cities within our network of 100 cities and 11 countries," a Southwest official said in April.

Separately, DIA is undergoing some $3.5 billion in construction projects. That includes modernization of its terminal.
