Southeast Kansas bank acquires three B of A locations

Parsons, Kan.-based Commerical Bank has agreed to purchase three Bank of America branches in southeast Kansas.

The Bank of America locations are in Independence, Kan., Coffeyville, Kan., and Caney, Kan. The sale is expected to close this summer.

With the acquisition, Commercial Bank will climb to 10 locations. Commercial is owned by the Sutherland family, which also owns three other banks with headquarters in Kansas. As a group, the family is purchasing 10 Bank of America branches, according to the Joplin Regional Business Journal.
