A contract to secure a 60-plane deal for South Korea's air force is up in the air after the country rejected a plane built by Boeing Co.
The American company submitted a revamped version of the Boeing F-15 already used by South Korea, with a bid under the country's budget cap of $7.7 billion, according to the Wall Street Journal.
However, South Korea rejected the plane, saying it fell short of operating needs. Defense officials have cited the need to address North Korea's nuclear threat with stealthier planes.
