Sony Corp. reached a deal to purchase anime streaming website Crunchyroll from AT&T for $1.2 billion.
Crunchyroll has 3 million paying subscribers in more than 200 countries and regions.
Sony’s Funimation Global Group, a U.S. animation distributor with 1 million paying subscribers, will operate Crunchyroll after the purchase closes.
