Sony Corp. promoted Chief Financial Officer Kenichiro Yoshida to president and CEO.
Yoshida succeeds Kazuo Hirai, who will stay on as chairman of the company where he led a turnaround.
"His way of thinking on what Sony must do is similar to mine," Hirai said of Yoshida's selection.
