Software startup moving HQ to newly renovated building

A Springfield-based software startup is moving its headquarters to a newly renovated building on the bustling East Sunshine Street corridor.

Ben Walsh, founder and CEO of ConGenius LLC, said the company's relocation to 3171 E. Sunshine St. from 830 E. Primrose St., Ste. 101, is expected "in a couple weeks."

"We outgrew our last space on Primrose," he said via email, noting his company has 20 employees.

The Sunshine Street property is a 20,000-square-foot, free-standing office building, said R.B. Murray Co. President Ross Murray. He brokered the lease of the property to ConGenius.

A listing provided by Murray points to a negotiable lease rate of $14 per square foot annually.

Raga Properties LLC served as developer of the remodeled building, with Nesbitt Construction Inc. as general contractor and Baron Design & Associates LLC as architect, said Murray.

ConGenius creates software that helps home builders, remodelers and construction companies with sales processes, estimates and building proposals, according to its website. The company was registered with the Missouri secretary of state in 2021.

"The idea for ConGenius started when I grew up with my dad in construction, saw the front-row seat to the challenges he faced as a contractor and a lot of just the ups and downs of running a contracting business," Walsh said in a video on the company's website. "Particularly, being able to sell jobs accurately was a big frustration for him. There's a lot of complexity involved with successfully bidding a job."
