Softbank to buy British tech firm in record $32B deal

Softbank agreed to buy British chip designer ARM Holdings for $32 billion.

The all-cash purchase would be the largest foreign takeover by a Japanese company to date.

Cambridge-based ARM is a leader in mobile computing, designing technology that can be found in popular smartphones including Apple's iPhone.
