SoftBank calls off deal to buy $3B in WeWork stock

SoftBank decided against buying $3 billion worth of WeWork stock from other shareholders.

SoftBank, a Japanese conglomerate and the dominant shareholder of WeWork, had offered to buy the shares after the latter company's failed initial public offering last fall.

The New York Times cited the coronavirus for evaporating WeWork’s co-working spaces.
