SoFi Bank files suit in bid to end student loan payment pause

SoFi Bank filed a federal lawsuit in an effort to end the payment pause on student loans.

The private lender said in the lawsuit that it "has lost approximately $150 to $200 million in profits" during the payment pause.

"Those numbers also significantly understate the moratorium’s harmful effects, because they do not take into account the growth that SoFi’s federal student-debt refinancing business would otherwise have experienced," the lawsuit reads.
