The Social Security Fairness Act has been signed into law by President Joe Biden.
The bipartisan legislation is designed to increase Social Security benefits for nearly 3 million public workers.
The act repeals the Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset provisions that have been in place for more than four decades.
