Snowden joins Twitter, follows NSA

Edward Snowden, the infamous former National Security Agency worker who has frustrated U.S. officials since his abrupt exit from the country two years ago, has landed on Twitter.

Snowden, who leaked classified documents about government surveillance and is now exiled in Russia, started tweeting Tuesday and had more than 185,000 followers an hour after his first tweet.

Facing charges that could land him in prison for 30 years, Snowden is following only one account: the National Security Agency.
