Sneak Peek: SBJ's List of the Area's Largest Employers

CoxHealth may have beat out St. John's Health System on SBJ's December list of the area's largest hospitals, based on number of licensed beds, but St. John's wins out this week as the area's largest employer, with 8,889 local employees. CoxHealth takes the second spot, with 5,779 local workers, and Missouri State University and Springfield Public Schools are neck-and-neck in the third and fourth spots.
