Snapchat parent company Snap revealed it's facing subpoenas from the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission.
The federal investigation is related to an ongoing shareholder lawsuit that alleges Snap misled investors about how Facebook's Instagram service impacted the company's growth.
Snap last year launched a $3.4 billion initial public offering.
