Smucker to buy Hostess Brands for $5.6B

J.M. Smucker reached a deal to buy Hostess Brands.

The deal is valued at $5.6 billion. Smucker also agreed to assume Hostess' debt of roughly $900 million.

The acquisition is expected to close in January.
