Southwest Missouri State University's Computer Institute is now a member of the Microsoft IT Academy Program, which is designed to allow accredited academic institutions to provide education on Microsoft Technologies.
"In today's tough economy, only the most skilled workers get the jobs they want. As a Microsoft IT Academy, the SMSU Computer Institute can provide professional training and certifications that will give our students the competitive advantage they need for technology careers," said Ron Green, technology coordinator at the SMSU Computer Institute, in a university announcement.
The SMSU Computer Institute offers information technology training to SMSU students and to members of the community. The Microsoft IT Academy program training prepares students and professionals for academic education tracks, Microsoft certification exams, and career opportunities including network administrators, technical support specialists, software and hardware developers, and office specialists. "The Microsoft IT Academy program ensures that every student has the opportunity to participate in the technology-driven economy," said Mischelle Schimelpfenig, IT academy program manager at Microsoft. "Students gain valuable skills, degrees and certifications that lead to more profitable and rewarding career options."
