SMSU Intermodal Transfer Facility

Posted online
General contractor DeWitt & Associates continues work on Southwest Missouri State University’s new intermodal transfer facility, scheduled for completion in January. Located at the intersection of Grand and Holland streets, the four-story parking facility will hold 1,240 vehicles and will provide access to campus pedestrian walkways, SMSU shuttles and City Utilities bus service. George Butler & Associates is the architect for the project, which has a total cost of $15.4 million. Funding for the structure is from a series of grants from the Federal Transit Administration, up to $1 million from SMSU’s parking reserve account and the sale of revenue bonds, which will be paid for with money from parking fees.
