Smithfield Foods is closing down 35 hog farm sites in Missouri.
The decision means 92 layoffs, according to a notice filed with the state. The filing listed 13 sites in Newtown, Missouri; 12 in Lucerne, Missouri; and 10 in Princeton, Missouri.
Smithfield Foods is the world’s biggest pork processor, according to Reuters.
