?The Small Business Week kickoff breakfast is set for 7:30 a.m. May 24 at the Heritage Cafeteria, 1364 E. Battlefield, sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration and Rural Missouri Inc. Sandra Winters, of Big Cabin Wholesale Inc., will speak. The cost is $6. To register, call 864-7670.

?"Outsource the Obvious, Improve the Benefits, Focus on Your Profits" will be presented by Alice Wingo and Ed Gibson of The Employer Advantage, 3-5 p.m. May 24 at the Small Business Development Center in Glass Hall on the SMSU campus. The cost is $30. Registration is required at 836-5685.

?A SCORE Pre-Business Workshop is scheduled for 8:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m. May 25 at the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, 202 S. John Q. Hammons Pkwy. The event is led by members of the SBA's Service Corps of Retired Executives and addresses starting and operating a small business. The cost is $20. To register, call 864-7670.

?The Small Business Showcase features table-top displays of many small businesses in the Springfield area. The displays are up May 26 and 27 at the Clarion Hotel.
