U.S. small-business optimism rose last month to the highest level since August 2025, according to the National Federation of Independent Business's optimism index.
The index rose by 2.4 points in July to 99.8 after four straight months of decline.
A seasonally adjusted 20% of small businesses intend to expand payrolls in the next three months, according to the study.
