The theater, owned by St. Louis-based Wehrenberg Theatres, began installation of SLS’ ribbon-driver cinema series speakers in its auditoriums in April and finished May 16.
The systems’ speakers clean up distortion at higher ranges, and its processors and amplifiers enhance subtle background sounds and reinforce sub-bass sound, according to an SLS news release.
“The higher-level ranges are much better,” said Bill Menke, facilities director of Wehrenberg Theatres, in the release. “Dialogue is perfect now, and you still get crystal-clear sound from action films with energetic soundtracks. Movie-goers are more savvy with technology now – they’re going to love this experience.”
Wehrenberg’s Galaxy 14 Cine near St. Louis has the same speaker technology. Menke said customers there have given excellent reviews of the improved sound quality.
SLS also has begun an in-theater branding campaign at Wehrenberg complexes that have its sound systems. The company is developing signage to be placed at theater entrances and is producing on-screen film trailers that will play before movies start.
