SLICE OF NICE (CHOCOLATE)|ret||ret||tab|
Does the thought of chocolate make you salivate like Pavlov's dog? If so, plan to attend the second annual Art and Science of Chocolate event, 2-5 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Discovery Center. All proceeds benefit the Discovery Center and the Friends of the Art Museum. A variety of restaurants and caterers are expected to bring their chocolate goods, including Hemingways, Chateau on the Lake, Big Cedar Lodge, Nonna's Bakery, Twin Oaks Restaurant, Abby Road and Cheesecake And More, said Charlotte McCoy, of the Discovery Center. Judges will determine winners in four categories candies, pastries, desserts and sculpture. Last year a bust of King Tut was featured, but the winning entry was Jacinda Curtis's heart-shaped chocolate box. Admission is $20 for adults, $10 for children 3-12 or $50 for the whole family. Last year the event raised $4,000. The Discovery Center is located at 438 St. Louis. For more information call McCoy at 862-9910, ext. 713.[[In-content Ad]]
