SLICE OF NICE
The Multiple Sclerosis Society is seeking riders and volunteers for the 2000 MS 150 Bike Tour scheduled for Sept. 9 and 10. The event's route will take cyclists from Republic to Joplin the first day, and from Joplin to Pittsburg, Kan., the second day. Cyclists can register for a fee of $35 and are required to raise a minimum of $150 in pledges, which helps fund research and programs for the 25,000 people affected by MS in western Missouri and eastern Kansas. Volunteers may choose from a variety of service areas, including participant registration computer data entry and rest stop facilitator. The tour also needs medical professional volunteers and motorcyclists to serve as escorts. For more information about the MS 150, call the Ozark branch office at 882-8128 or 800-745-4148.
