The 2000 Missourian Awards, honoring Walter Cronkite, Linda Blair, Dennis Weaver and Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, will benefit the American Heart Association. This year's focus is to help Branson, Springfield and Joplin raise funds to implement the lifesaving Public Access Defibrillation Program, which utilizes automated external defibrillators, which can improve the chances of surviving a sudden heart attack by up to 95 percent. The Missourian Award Dinner will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 23 at Chateau on the Lake in Branson. Tickets are $150 per person.
