The 10th annual Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk will be held Sept. 30 at Phelps Grove Park. The day begins with registration at 9 a.m., followed by a warm-up at 10. The walk begins at 10:15 a.m. Three-mile and one-mile courses are available, and the one-mile course is wheelchair accessible. A registration donation of $15 is required. Those who raise additional funds may receive T-shirts, mugs, embroidered sweatshirts, Ethan the Memory Walk elephant and an opportunity to win the event's grand prize. Tell-A-Friend Tuesday will take place Oct. 3 as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The day is dedicated to a woman-to-woman education program promoting mammography. The American Cancer Society asks that businesses support the effort by granting employees time to make a few calls to friends and spread the word. For more information, call 881-4668.
