Sunshine Run 2000, to benefit the St. John's Health System burn unit, will begin at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 14 in front of St. John's Hammons Heart Institute, 1235 E. Cherokee. Events include a two-mile family fun walk/run and a 10-kilometer run and fitness walk. Four $200 cash prizes will be awarded to overall winners, and prizes from New Balance will be awarded to winners in a variety of age groups.
Registration is $12 for adults prior to race day; $14 on race day. Registration for ages 12 and under is $8 prior to race day; $10 on race day. Registration forms can be picked up at St. John's, The News-Leader, Ridgerunner Sports and Midwest Sports Medicine Center.
Race day registration is 7-9 a.m. at Midwest Sports Medicine Center, 2135. S. Fremont.
