The city of Springfield will host its annual Partners In Education program, " The Treasures of the City," beginning at 5:45 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Busch Municipal Building, 840 Boonville Ave. The event is open to all Springfield fourth-grade students and their parents. During the treasure hunt for knowledge about the city's government, students will follow a trail of clues and a treasure map, which will lead them to various departments in the city government complex. At each stop, students will receive a piece of "treasure" representative of the specific department. Students will also meet members of Springfield Council, and the treasure hunt will conclude in council chambers., where Mayor Lee Gannaway will reward the hunters with a final piece of treasure.
