Live performances of "The Hound of the Baskervilles," based on the Sherlock Holmes novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, will be held at 7:30 p.m. beginning Oct. 27 at the Vandivort Center Theater. Sponsored by Ozarks Public Television, KOZK Channel 21, the play is directed by Paul Oakley, Ozarks Public Television educational resources specialist. Oakley adapted the play for his graduate thesis at Southwest Missouri State University, and the project is dedicated to Dr. Leslie Irene Coger. The production will serve as a springboard for an instructional TV series on "How to Produce a Play," which will focus on lighting techniques, set construction, stage direction, etc. Tickets are $12 Oct. 27- Oct. 31 and $10 thereafter. Director Oakley told SBJ that the terrifying canine of the title is "half bloodhound and half mastiff, as large as a small lioness," to quote the script.
