Springfield Public Schools Jan. 4 announced that Consumer Credit Counseling Services, a budgeting and debt-management education service that offers its services free to the public, pledged a $2,000 donation to reading programs in the Springfield School District. CCCS President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Cherry said the money will be equally divided among Study, Pipkin and Reed middle schools. Each school will decide how to use the money for its reading program, the release said. "We believe in education and reading, and the schools' reading programs," Cherry said.
