The second annual Moonlight Cruise for Kids event will begin at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Port of Kimberling in Kimberling City. This adults-only event benefits the abused and neglected children served by Court Appointed Special Advocates. The evening will start with a barbecue dinner of brisket, ribs, baked beans, potato salad and all the trimmings, catered by Charlie's Steak, Ribs and Ale of Branson. Following the meal, participants will embark on a moonlit cruise along the dam on Table Rock Lake. Owners of 12 boats have donated use of their boats (and their skills to operate them) for the evening. The boats, which vary in size, will accommodate 30 to 60 people each. Tickets are $75 for a single ticket or $125 for a pair. Discount tickets for large groups also are available: $2,500 for 30 people, $3,000 for 40 people, $3,500 for 50 people and $4,000 for 60 people. For more information, contact the local CASA office.
