Skaggs receives top rating in national study

Posted online
Skaggs Community Health Center is among the top 10 percent of hospitals in the United States for its clinical excellence, according to a HealthGrades study released this morning.

The Branson hospital was awarded a five-star rating for clinical excellence in its treatment of heart failure, hip-fracture repair, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cholecystectomy and respiratory failure. About 10 percent of the more than 5,000 hospitals in the study were rated with five stars.

Five stars is defined as better-than-predicted service at a hospital, with the difference between the expected level of service and the actual level being statistically significant.

Skaggs also received the Specialty Excellence Award for its gastrointestinal care.

Skaggs has 177 beds and 21 satellite medical clinics in Taney and Stone counties. The hospital also was given a five-star rating in HealthGrades’ report last year.

Golden-Colo.-based HealthGrades is a national health-care ratings company.[[In-content Ad]]
