Skaggs ortho-neuro center

Posted online

Construction has begun on Skaggs Community Health Center’s new ortho-neuro building at 121 Cahill Road. The general contractor is Alberici Healthcare Constructors, and architecture is by The Lawrence Group. The engineer is Henneman, Raufeisen & Associates Inc. All three firms are based in St. Louis. The two-story, 40,000-square-foot building will be built and furnished for approximately $7 million, including a $1 million, high-field, short-bore magnetic resonance imaging system.

The structure will have ground-level access and ample nearby parking. The ground floor, comprising about 15,000 square feet, will house physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy offices and an exercise room. The second floor will have four physician office suites. Three Skaggs clinics will relocate to the ortho-neuro center: Skaggs Orthopedic Associates, Branson Neurology and Pain Center, and Skaggs Pain Center. Other tenants include Drs. J. Charles Mace and Salim Rahman, members of an independent neurosurgery group.

Skaggs Community Health Center will own 51 percent of the new center, while physician investors will own the other 49 percent. The structure is scheduled for completion in December 2006.
