The 13-year-old cardiac clinic at 1150 State Highway 248 was founded by Dr. Joseph Dwyer, who remained the primary partner of the Branson Heart Center until the sale, according to Skaggs CEO Stephen M. Erixon.
Erixon said Skaggs financed the purchase and holds 100 percent ownership of the clinic.
Erixon said the three remaining cardiologists at the clinic will continue to practice. They are Drs. Narin Arunakul, Mohammed Murtaza and Prasert Vijitbenjaronk. Joining them will be Skaggs Cardiology Associates’ physicians Sanjay Bhargava, Eliot Nissenbaum and Naginder Sharma.
Dwyer is leaving the area to pursue other opportunities.
“We are going to consolidate our cardiac services and bring everything together,” Erixon said. “They had cardiac vacancies in their staff and we had vacancies in cardiac on our side.”
The acquisition brings another 14 Branson Heart Center employees onto Skaggs’ payroll. The lower level of the Branson Heart Center will continue to be used for cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, officials said.
