Sixteen apply for new Greene County judge position

Sixteen area lawyers have applied for a newly-created Greene County associate circuit court judge position.

The Missouri General Assembly funded the position during this year's session. Of the 16 applicants, four are women, one is a minority, nine are presently employed in the private sector and seven are in the public sector. According to a news release from the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, the applicants' mean age is 46.6 years old.

Open to the public, applicants will be interviewed by the 31st Circuit Judicial Commission on Sept. 24. The applicants are:
  • Robin J. Aiken, Aiken Law Firm;
  • Chantel L. Alberhasky, Alberhasky Law Firm PC;
  • P. Janette Worsham-Bleau, Christian County prosecutor's office;
  • J. Ronald Carrier, Missouri attorney general's office;
  • Chad T. Courtney, Courtney & Mills LLC;
  • Wendy E. Garrison, Missouri public defender;
  • Brent D. Green, Evans & Green LLP;
  • Margaret E. Holden, Misouri Division of Workers' Compensation;
  • D. Andrew Hosmer, Hosmer, King & Royce LLC;                                     
  • Stuart P. Huffman, Whiteaker & Wilson PC.;
  • Jason J. Lessmeier, Missouri Court of Appeals;
  • Tyson J. Martin, Catt, Cole & Martin LLC;
  • T. Todd Myers, Greene County prosecutor's office;
  • Nhan Duc Nguyen, Greene County prosecutor's office;
  • James R. Sharp, Sharp & Bredesen; and
  • David F. Sullivan, Schmidt, Kirby & Sullivan PC.
The commission will meet immediately after interviews to select three nominees from the applicant pool for the governor's consideration.

The members of the 31st Judicial Circuit Commission are Chief Judge William W. Francis Jr., Clif Smart, Andrew Bennett, Linda Fowler and Steven Stepp.
