Six Flags to slash 10% of workforce

Six Flags Entertainment Corp. announced plans in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing to eliminate roughly 10% of its workforce.

The theme park operator is cutting 240 jobs, a move that will cost about $4.5 million in severance during the third and fourth quarters, according to the filing.

During the first half of the year, Six Flags reported a net loss of $221 million.
