Sinquefield groups dumped $4.5M into three Mo. races in past month

Posted online

Missouri Republicans running for state office received a big boost to campaign coffers in June, courtesy of committees associated with St. Louis political investor Rex Sinquefield.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Sinquefield is one of the biggest political donors in the state, having donated more than $37 million to state-level candidates as of a January 2015 report.

Add $4.5 million to that total after donations made by Sinquefield affiliates last month to committees for Catherine Hanaway, Kurt Schaefer and Bev Randles – all seeking the GOP nomination for separate offices.

Missouri’s state-level primaries are scheduled for Aug. 2, with the general election to follow on Nov. 8.
