Simon Property ups offer for smaller rival

Simon Property Group Inc., the largest U.S. shopping mall owner, raised its offer for smaller rival Macerich Co. to $95.50 per share in cash and stock.

According to Reuters, Simon - the owner of Battlefield Mall in Springfield - earlier offered $91 per share, but the bid was rejected.

The new offer has an enterprise value of $23.2 billion.
