Project description: The historic Silver Springs Park near central Springfield, a locus for African American history in the Ozarks with annual Park Day and Juneteenth celebrations, is undergoing a renovation. The project also includes the creation of an amphitheater, improvements to restrooms, a new concrete plaza and upgraded lighting. The project is being funded through a Greene County allocation of American Rescue Plan Act funds.
