For the sixth time, An Old Time Christmas at Silver Dollar City has topped an annual USA Today reader survey for best theme park holiday event.

USA Today on Friday released the results of the 10Best reader poll. Voting started in late November.

“We sincerely thank our friends and fans from all around the globe who took time out of their busy schedules to vote every single day,” said Brad Thomas, Silver Dollar City president, in the release. “Christmas is such a special time for us, and we’re so grateful to our fans for highlighting the city as the nation’s must-visit holiday destination."

The rankings in this year's 10Best best theme park holiday event are:
1. An Old Time Christmas at Silver Dollar City.
2. SeaWorld's Christmas Celebration.
3. WinterFest at Kings Island.
4. Hersheypark Christmas Candylane.
5. Holiday in the Park at Six Flags.
6. Christmastime at Santa's Village.

Some 500,000 people visit Silver Dollar City in November and December, Thomas told Springfield Business Journal in a recent article. An Old Time Christmas includes 6.5 million lights installed throughout the park, as well as an eight-story tree that lights up in time with music.
