Silver Dollar City to open clinic for employees

Posted online
In April, Silver Dollar City Attractions plans to open an on-site health and medical center for its 2,300 employees and their families, the company announced Thursday.

The SDC Attractions Employee Medical Center, on State Highway 265 near the theme park, will be open weekdays year-round to its qualifying Branson-area employees and their dependents, as part of the company’s benefits program.

Basic services, including annual health-risk appraisals, flu shots, screenings and classes, will be offered for free. If advanced treatment is needed, employees will be able to visit Skaggs Community Health Center in Branson at a discounted rate.

Low-cost prescriptions also will be available.

“This new service is designed primarily to provide quick, convenient and affordable access to basic health services for our employees and their dependents,” said Brad Thomas, general manager of Silver Dollar City, in a news release. “We anticipate that such convenience will encourage preventative care, early attention to health issues and quicker treatment, resulting in better health for our employees and their families.”

Walk-in services and appointments will be available. Co-pay rates will be $15 for an employee visit and $20 for a dependent visit.

The center will be staffed full-time with a physician, two licensed practical nurses and an administrator.

SDC officials would not disclose the cost of opening the center.

The center will not be open to the public.[[In-content Ad]]
